CASE STUDY - V

Tenzin Zomki Bhutia

How did you develop an interest in the aviation industry?

Ans: It has been my dream to become an airhostess.

Who guided you to join AHA?

Ans: My cousin sister and also one of my friends.

How was your experience with AHA?

Ans: My experience in AHA was great. Gaining friends, confidence and learning something new every day.

What is the name of the organisation that you are currently placed with?

Ans: Currently I am working with Indigo Airlines as an airhostess.

How did you get this placement?

Ans: Got a call from AHA informing me about the interview.

What was the selection procedure?

Ans: It was based on three rounds. First round was with the Base Manager, Second round with the Vice President In-flight and the last and third was with the Owner. Good communication is a must.

Did you have any previous job experience before you started your career in aviation?

Ans: Yes, prior to joining Indigo I was working as an airhostess in charter airways, where I flew with VIP's and all business people. My first job was with the Oberoi's clippers lounge in the international airport as a lounge hostess.

Please describe your experiences during the first few days of joining your first job, after completing your course?

Ans: First few days of my first job, I was a little scared but, I had an AHA friend from my own batch so we both were together for most of the time. It looked tiring but then as we have been trained well, we settled there very soon.

What in your assessment are some of the basic skills required for this career?

Ans: As far as I know the basic skills required for this career are communication, hard work and punctuality. You can miss the flight if you are not punctual, you have to communicate with the passenger to console them or to entertain them and you have to be hard working to survive.

Any message for the trainees at AHA?

Ans: I want to say thank you to all the AHA trainers for doing a wonderful job. You bring out the best of us. Pay heed to what the trianer say.
